Romney refuses to support S-CHIP, and parrots GOP criticism but signed health law that relied on program expansion as governor.
September 27th, 2007BOSTON — Massachusetts Democrats today blasted GOP presidential
candidate Mitt Romney for siding with President Bush against 90,000
Bay State children who are covered under the federal State Children’s
Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and for hypocrisy in criticizing a
program that he helped to expand in Massachusetts by signing the
health care law in 2006.
